The made this known in a Facebook post on Sunday 11th of October 2020.
He said "This afternoon, the opposing sides stopped the fire. Although individual shots are still being made, but the tendency so far allows us to look at the future with optimism. This happened after Putin had phone conversations with the heads of Armenia and Azerbaijan and organized a meeting of foreign ministers of these countries in Moscow with the mediation of Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov. Negotiations were held until late night, but after all the parties agreed to cease the fire. Former republics of the USSR after its collapse has dispute about the sovereignty of Nagorno-Karabakh. But for Russia peace on the lands of its former fellow citizens and current neighbors is the main priority. For Russians both Armenia and Azerbaijan are fraternal countries and peace between them should be ensured."OMOKOSHABAN
