In what appears to be a clear confirmation of a prediction by the proprietor of Adoration Ministries Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), the All Progressives Congress have taken over the entire 27 LGAs and 645 communities of Imo State.

The elected council chairpersons and councillors were largely supported by the people of their various LGAs to take over the councils in obedience to a Supreme Court judgement, quashing any powers by governors and various Houses of Assembly to sack or suspend elected LGA officials.

You may recall that Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka, a fiery and charismatic Catholic priest had during the New Year Eve service at his Adoration Ground, predicted that a new flag shall rise in Imo State in this New Year, and that the current government in the State would be thrown out. The priest reiterated this prediction yesterday during his Sunday homily, when he declared further that the Ihedioha administration has been rejected by God.

Meantime, reports from the various LGAs in the State indicate that the resumption of duty by these elected officials has been mostly peaceful, as majority of Imolites have thrown their support behind the move, which is indicative of the unpopularity of the Ihedioha administration. However, the PDP leadership in the State are said to have started mobilizing hoodlums from neighboring States to attack these elected officials. Also, the DPO of Aboh-Mbaise LGA of the State has been accused of overreaching his legitimate duties by using teargas to try to scare these officials out of their duty posts, while the whereabouts of the executive chairman of the LGA, Hon. Chidimma Nwaturiocha is yet to be determined, as the DPO is accused of making attempts to kidnap him.
