Niger State Governor, Sani Bello Pledges continued support to traditional institutions


Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has reiterated his administration's resolve to continue giving support to the traditional institutions in the state.

Governor Bello restated this at the turbaning ceremony of Alh. Yakubu Dan’asabe Abubakar as the Wakilin Minna and Alh. Isah Dan’asabe Abubakar as the Walin Minna (Karami) that took place at the Emir’s Palace Minna.

He said his government will continue to an open door policy and urged the traditional title holders to always feel free to approach government when the need arises as he is ready to listen to them.

The Governor appreciated the Emir of Minna, Alh. (DR.) Umar Faruq Bahago for elevating the two illustrous sons of the emirate, whom he described as hardworking and always ready to accept responsibilities.

He assured the Emir that the Wakilin Minna and Walin Minna Karami, through their activities, will be supportive of the emirate towards uplifting and sustaining it.

The Governor implored them not to relent in carrying out the good work that they are known for urging them to have an open-door policy by listening and promoting the well being of all in the society.

The Emir of Minna, Alh. (Dr) Umar Faruq Bahago described the newly turbaned traditional title holders as philanthropists who have over the years remained loyal and dedicated to the service of the emirate.

He urged them not to see their new positions as added responsibilities but a position that they will use to bring about the desired development of the emirate .

Alh Yakubu succeeded his uncle, Late Alh Isah Jibrin as the new Wakilin Minna, while Alh Isah Walin Minna Karami is the son of Former Head of State and Commander in Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Gen. Abdulsalami Alhaji Abubakar who is the Walin Minna.

The event was attended by personalities from all cultures and places. The guests were thrilled to various cultural performances.
