INEC confirmed Gov. Yahaya Bello Double registration, say they have no right to prosecute him while in office


Independent National Electoral commission (INEC) has confirmed that Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi did a double voters card registration, stating that Bello first registration was on 30th of January 2011, in Abuja, and his second registration was on Tuesday May 27th 2017, at Government House in Lokoja.

INEC in Statement, said that, what Governor Bello did is against electoral act.

The commission Further said that section 308(1) (a) of the 1999 constitution as amended prevent the commission from prosecuting him while in office.

Well I don’t think he will the prosecutor’s will get anything even if prosecuted. The reason is that suspect that the first registration was done in Lagos and the second was done in kogi. If you not very clearly you cannot go to the rotation done in Lagos in kogi and for him to vote in kogi he will definitely have no option but to register in kogi. That’s exactly what could have happened. So I think whoever it is accusing him we’ll just be doing that and wasting time and Resources
