Breaking: EFCC summons formers kogi Gov. Idris Wada, and others over 183billion fraud


The economic and financial crime commsion (EFCC) on Monday summons two former Kogi governors over 183billion naira fraud, in a petition signed by Concerned Kogi Youth Vanguard, (CKYV) and summitted to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja, the state chairman of the group Mr Harun Ilyass, noted that, gross incompence and mismanagement of public funds under the previous administration cannot be treated as a fair case, hence there is need to call for the probe.

He however noted that, the two governors while in office failed to execute projects which the money were received, urging the EFCC to act swiftly to their plea as Kogites are dearly in need of justice at this point in time.

The spokesperson for the group, Mr Moses Usman, while reacting to the petition signed and summitted to the office of the EFCC, he pointed out the anomalies of previous government on the ground of financial management, also in the last PDP primary election where a former governor, Idris Wada was caught on video sharing over 400million dollars, " the concerned Kogi youth vanguard, we seek justice to Kogi money which was mismanaged by the previous government, and demand urgent probe of a video tape showing a former governor who was caught sharing money amounting to 400 million dollars. it is no doubts, this act is against the electoral laws and regulations, and whoever is found guilty should be made to face the full wrath of the law. This is the same man whose government took SME loans amounting to billions and couldn't show anything for it, we appeal to the EFCC to act fast as the youths under the aegis of Concerned Kogi youth vanguard are earnestly waiting for justice to be served. "

Reacting to the petition, spokesperson for EFCC, Mr Tony Orilade calls for patience as the commission is already making drastic efforts to look into the petition summitted, sighting that there are over 45 petitions submitted to its table, which are in conformity to mismanagement of public funds under the previous administration, urging the group to remain calm,

Also, he thanked the group being active in the course of giving lucid updates on their submission, that they have indeed contributed to their efforts in making Nigeria a corrupt free country.

Just Monday on the 23, the commission summons two former governor, Idris Wada, Ibrahim Idris and two former commissioners over the summitted pettition to the commsion.

The commsion issued deadline, to appear before the panel, as the committee saddle with the task to enquire has commenced its work, The spokesman said.
