"If the return of the bassa is possible as promised by the Governor, I advise the egburas not to try any stupid movement. Or else the whole of Toto LGA will be desolate neither egburas nor bassa will inhabit it. I know they have been looking for opportunity to strike the bassa, since we’re wise enough to evacuate the place and they thought we can’t stand them."
Bassa Kwomu has said that they are desperate to return to their home in Nasarawa state.
Bassa Kwomu in Statement by Ambitious-Nyizo S.D, said, "Following the recent meeting held at lafia the nasarawa state capital, with Gov. Tanko al-makura and the elders of both the bassa and egburas on how to bring back peace in Toto LGA. Since this meeting, the egburas have took to social medias in dissatisfaction over the Governor’s guest to make it possible the bassa return to the LGA. From all indications and their reactions so far, it clearly shows they’re not ready for peace. After the bassa have been calling on them since the beginning of this crisis to come so they’d map out how to discuss about bring peace, they pay a deaf ear. Now they’re against the Governor’s guest to return the bassa people.. The egburas said the governor is paying them back good for evil because they claim.we don’t vote for him in 2015. Imagine? Regardless of whether u vote or not every government must serve the interest of the people when elected.
"Meanwhile, even admist this, let it be known to the Government and egbura that we are not desperate to return. If the government can’t follow the contents in the white paper by actualizing the TURUKU CHIEFDOM , then the guest for our return is useless. Upon our return, let every single thing belonging to the bassa be restored back. We commend the Government for such a bold step, but our main concern on ground should be addressed. We ain’t settling for the less!
The Governor onced promise to look into in the appointment of our people in his government before he live office, yet none of this promise have been fulfill. Very soon the newly elected governor will come with little or no knowledge about the conflict in the LGA. Let the elders not get moved by any promises again. Our main concern is Actualizing TURUKU CHIEFDOM.
STERN WARNING TO THE EGBURAS
I have seen some reactions lately by some egburas that let the bassa start counting their dead bodies if we agree to return to Toto LGA. I just laugh at such childish talk. Though they succeed in doing such thing in 2000 when the bassa upon their return the egburas start attacking them. But gone are those days and era. If the return of the bassa is possible as promised by the Governor, I advise the egburas not to try any stupid movement. Or else the whole of Toto LGA will be desolate neither egburas nor bassa will inhabit it. I know they have been looking for opportunity to strike the bassa, since we’re wise enough to evacuate the place and they thought we can’t stand them. If the egburas think the return if bassa is another opportunity for them, I swear they’ll see an eye of a frog."OMOKOSHABAN
