Kogi LGA Chief Administrator and Chiefs Move To Battle Insecurity In The Area



Hon. Muhammed Musa Tanko Osuku, the Chief Administrator Kogi Kotonkarfe LGA has raised alarm over frequent of kidnapping and banditry in Kogi LGA and its environs and promised to fight it to the end.

The Chairman who met with traditional ruler of Gegu HRH. Alhaji Muhammed Abba Alhassan decried the worsening security situation in some parts of the LGA and resolving to find a common solution to the problems.

The council boss spoke at the meeting with the royal father, youths, elders and some other indigenous tribes in Gegu today, stress on the raising spate of kidnapping and banditry in the area.

He called on all citizens in the area to cooperate with each other, in other to bring the ugly incident to an end.

Barr. Muhammed Tanko Osuku disclosed that the new direction government will not spare any culprits found wanton and assured that the law is very clear on the issue of kidnapping.

He said his administration is committed to protect life and property of every residents of Kogi LGA.

He said "I am deeply worried and sad with the situation of insecurity in the area, especially the happenings in Kotonkarfe and Gegu axis over kidnapping and banditry".

The Chairman also point one Mr. Idris a Bassa Kwomu, and a supervisor of agriculture in the Kogi LGA over his uncontrollable utterances relating to insecurity in the area which on several occasion had been arrested and detained for involvement in illegitimate activities and inflammatory utterances on the crises in some parts of the State.

Barr Tanko Osuku, therefore, urge all and sundry to report any strange faces and persons in their locality.

The traditional ruler HRH. Alhaji Muhammed Abba Alhassan thank the Chairman for his diligence, wisdom and prompt response to end the insecurity in the area, calling on the security personnel to dislodged bandits from their hideout.

The 15th Nyinwo Gegu said,
"We are more worried with sage of inflammatory statement to preach hatred, violence and other issues that tend to divide us, rather than strengthen our unity as a people created by God".

The meeting ended with the suspected person signing undertaken that if anything happened relating to insecurity, militancy and kidnapping he should be held responsible.

Those who attended the meeting included: Chief Administrator Kogi LGA and appointed members, Chief of Gegu and elders in the council, Aguma Shiloba of Gegu Beki and his followers, the accused person Idris Supervisor a Bassa Kwomu man with both youths and some stakeholders from both Egbiras and Bassa Kwomu nationalities were in attendance.
