Function: (Antipyretic, Analgesic, Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs)
Antipyretic: a medicine that lowers or prevent raising of body temperature (fever).
Analgesic: medicine that help to relieves pains.
Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs(NSAID): as the name imply, it is a drugs that did not contain steroid, and work by preventing the activity of cyclooxygenase1 enzymes (an enzyme that regulates prostaglandins which are important for the health of the stomach lining and kidneys) and cyclooxygenase2 enzymes (an enzyme that makes prostaglandins which cause inflammation and pain and fever).
For treating the following ailment;
Fever: frequent rising temperature of the body, which signify sign and symptom of infection.
Rheumatic diseases: is a painful disorder of the joints, muscles and any connective tissues in the body system. (excluding gout).
100mg, 300mg and 500mg tablet
Children above 20kg, should be given 100mg/kg/day in 4 divided doses, and should not exceed 100mg/kg/day.
Adult 3 to 6g/day in 4 divided doses, and should not exceed 6g/day

Duration of administration for mild pain and fever, is 1 to 3 days but for rheumatic disease; is according to how the patient responds to clinical treatment.
Do not administer to the following patient;
- Patient who is allergic to aspirin, and NSAID.
- Coagulation disorder
- Hepatic or cardiac problems
- Severe renal problem
- Peptic ulcer
- Children less than one years
Use paracetamol for children less than one years
Administration to elder and asthmatic patient is guided with a strict caution.
And never exceed the dosage limit mostly in children and elderly. Overdose led to intoxication which might probably be fatal.
Stop the medication and use paracetamol when the following sign and symptom occur;
- Early sign of overdose
- Allergic reactions
- Peptic ulcer
- Epigastric pain
Never combine aspirin with antcoagulant, methotrexate and NSAID.
When combine with insulin, proper monitoring of the patient should be adhere to because it may cause the following; increased hypoglycemia, and corticosteroids.
For pregnant and breast feeding patient, use paracetamol.
Take the drugs meals with plenty of water.
For moderate pain treatment, aspirin can be combine with codeine or tramadol.
It can also be administer for antipletet work in secondary prevention of atherothrombosis, in an average dose of 75 to 300mg daily.
Never use when the tablet has and excessive smell of vinegar, but small quantity of vinegars is always present.
